Obituary of Henry P. Scalfo

Henry P. Scalfo age 78 of Vineland, NJ passed away on April 29th at the South Jersey Hospice Care after a long, courageous battle against pancreatic cancer while surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Vineland, NJ, he graduated Vineland High School in 1951, and served in the US Navy aboard the destroyer USS Stephen Potter during the Korean War. Henry founded Scalfo Electric, Inc. in 1966 where he served as CEO. A member of the International Brotherhood of Elecrical Workers (IBEW) for fifty-five years, and an instructor for the IBEW apprenticeship program and member of the IBEW Joint Apprenticeship Committee. He served as president and governor of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). As a life long resident of the Vineland community he was active in supporting youth activities and a sponsor of the South Vineland Little League for over 36 years. Henry was a parishoner at St. Isidore the Farmer Church where he seved on the finance committee untill last year. He was a private pilot with a passion for flying. He enjoyed spending his summers in Ocean City, NJ fishing with family and friends and always tinkering on numerous projects. Henry is survived by his wife of 55 years Martha (falconio) Scalfo, daughter Diana and her husband Richard Grouser, daughter Christine Scalfo, daughter Audrey and her husband Michael Filardi, and son Henry Jr. and his wife Kimberly. Five loving grandchildren, Ariana and Arin Scalfo, Kimberly and Richard Grouser III, and Leah Filardi. His brother Anthony L. and his wife Sarah Scalfo, and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry is prececeased by his parents Anthony and Aldina (Graiff) Scalfo and his sister Eleanor Johnson
