Obituary of John R. Scarpa

John "Jack" Scarpa, 59, passed away on December 11, 2006 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center in Vineland. Jack was a Vineland High School graduate in 1965. He also graduated from Alliance College in Erie, PA. Before his retirement, Jack was a partner with Bruce H. Garlock Insurance Agency. Prior to that, he was a Special Education Teacher with the Vineland Board of Education. Jack was a member of the North Vineland Fire Company #3, where he served a term as President and was a member of the Vineland Exempt Fireman's Association. He was a former, active member of the Democratic Club in Vineland. Jack enjoyed collecting and working on antique cars and belonged to the Garden State Classic Thunderbird Club and the Cohanzik Antique Motor Club. He also served as a Boy Scout troop leader, holding the rank of Eagle Scout. Jack volunteered for, and was lieutenant of, the Tiny Tim Association. He was a charter member of the Northwest Swim Club. Jack enjoyed spending time at his summer residence in Sea Isle City, where he enjoyed collecting model sailboats. Jack especially enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.
