Obituary of John Bracaliello

John Bracaliello Masonry Contractor John D. Bracaliello of Vineland passed away after a valiant fight with cancer on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Vineland, John was the son of the late Bernard and Norma Bracaliello. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Vineland High School. He served in the Vietnam War in the Mobile Construction Battalion #62. He received a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star and a Vietnam Campaign Medal during his two years of service and received an honorable discharge upon the completion of his service. John began in the construction industry with his late father, Bernard Bracaliello, and then later established Bracaliello Masonry Inc. in 1985. Through his hard work and love of the business, he became well known and respected as one of the top masonry contractors in the tri-state area. John was a member of the Masonry Contractors of New Jersey and the BACADC of New Jersey Local Union 5. He was a devoted member of St. Padre Pio Parish. John was an avid car enthusiast and collector of early model cars. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars to their original condition. His particular favorite was his 1964 Corvette, which he entered in numerous car shows. He enjoyed frequenting his summer home in Ocean City and spending time on his boat and for a brief time riding his Harley Davidson. John enjoyed and compassionately loved his family. He loved spending time with his loved ones, outings with his many friends and his weekly dinner group. John was a good, loving and caring man of great integrity who will be missed sorely by his adoring family, many friends and business associates. He is survived by his wife Marianne (DeMarco) Bracaliello, daughter Gail Schippnick and husband Christopher of Little Egg Harbor Twp., brother Gary Bracaliello and wife Gayle of Upper Deerfield Twp., two sisters, Pam Barr of San Diego, CA and Tonilynn Donzola and husband Dwight of Milmay, three grandchildren, Zachary, Michael John and Heather Schippnick and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Norma Bracaliello, his daughter, Kimberly Bracaliello and his brother Daniel Bracaliello. Funeral home visitations will be held Tuesday evening, January 6, 2009 from 6 to 9 pm and again on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, from 9 to 10 am at the Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Padre Pio Parish Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
