Obituary of David Paul Ricci

David Paul Ricci passed away peacefully on December 15, 2011. He was born in Vineland, NJ to Paul and Margaret (Pagluighi) Ricci on May 4, 1949. David was married 35 years to his beloved wife Carol (Biaselli). He had many interests and careers. He was successful in retailing with the Windsor Card Shops, where he was President and CEO from 1986 to 1998. He had a long history of public service and had been involved with the Center for Human Development, Cumberland County Guidance Center in Millville, from 1985 to 1997, serving in many roles including President from 1993-1997. He was a member of the Vineland Zoning Board of Adjustment for 15 years, from 1991-2006 and had served as its Chairman. David was an avid trap shooter, enjoyed Saturday lunches with his friends at the Kupetz and visiting with his Mom. Sunday was always Green Bay Packers day. For the last decade David worked at New Jersey's Division on Aging, serving as State Coordinator of the Adult Protective Services Program, a crisis intervention program that responds to reports of alleged abuse, neglect or exploitation of vulnerable adults in the community. Through his work in the Division, including his integral role with the Office of the Public Guardian and Elder Rights, he advocated tirelessly for those affected by illness, disability and isolation. Dave was known throughout the state as a true champion for those too frail or alone to protect themselves. He is survived by his wife Carol, mother Margaret, sister Amy, brother Jack, his wife Connie, and their children Andrew and Samantha; brother-in-law Joseph Biaselli, his wife Ellen, and their children Joseph and David; as well as his dog Sophie. He was predeceased by his father, Paul. Dave inspired many and was loved dearly by his family and friends. We will all miss him very much.
