Aunt Sandy, Eddie and Ruthie, I'm so sorry for the loss of Uncle Danny. When I was a young guy he provided me with a creative role model that I was to admire all my life. My fondest of memories of summers on Wheat Road as kids, Uncle Dan was kind and generous...I still think of the time he spent with me at his studio at Wheatons, he was instrumental in communicating that a career could be made of artful pursuits. I am indebted to him for guiding and encouraging me in my studies of architecture. He was my fathers dear friend. To my childhhood chum Ed, I'm sorry. I miss our sunny afternoons together. Your friend, always, Greg Modelle

Dear Sandy, I was very upset upon hearing the news that your wonderful husband had passed. In the eight years that I worked for the paper (Whoot/AC Weekly), I've never witnessed a couple that I looked up to more. You two always did everything together, from visiting the Whoot/ACW office, to attending the gala affairs that we threw for the paper that we all worked for. Your love and kindness for each other always shone through. Most of us wish that we might have what you and Dan shared. Just please hang on there. I know that Dan will always still be with you. Dan will never leave you. Love, Cindy

dear sandy & family -- i was deeply saddened to read of Dan's passing - he was a wonderful boss and friend during my time working for him at Wheaton Plastics many, many years ago and even after I had left and gone on to other things, both dan and sandy were always the nicest of people you would want to meet and know. I'm sorry i cannot be there in person to say how I feel but I recently had surgery myself and cannot drive as yet -- i hope that your memories of dan will sustain you thru this difficult time -- he will not be forgotten. my best to you sandy and to your son and daughter. I was saddened this morning to read of Dan's passing. Then I had to smile as I thought of some of the memories I had of Dan. I remember many meetings between Dan, Ken Wurtzel, and myself at Wheaton where we argued passionately about technical and regulatory issues. At times, I remember there were four different opinions among the three of us. I remember lunching with Dan and laughing at his many stories told in such a way that you remembered his Brooklyn heritage. I remember Dan as both a friend and a mentor, a kind man and someone who will be missed. May God comfort his family in their time of grief.
