Obituary of Richard A. Mitchell
Richard A. "Mitch" Mitchell, 77, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning January 30, 2011. Born in Philadelphia on September 27, 1933. Richard is survived by his wife Eva Sparacio- Mitchell, three children from a previous marriage; Charles, Richard and Laura Mitchell, and two step-daughters, Karen Sparacio and Christine Tripodi.
Richard was a graduate of Vineland High School and Rowan University.Richard received an Honorable. he served in the Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne where he received the national Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal for Distinguished Service. A life-time educator, Richard taught students at Veterans Memorial School in Vineland for more than 25 years
Mitch loved his family and friends, and was always there for anyone who needed him. He was interested in music, civil War history and non-fiction reading. Richard spent a great deal of time tracing his family's genealogy and enjoying nothing more than sharing this information with his family.
Compassionate, with a great sense of humor, Mitch loved animals and was dedicated to children , not only as an educator, but also as an enthusiastic Boy Scout leader for many years. Richard also enjoyed enjoyed hiking, the outdoors and woodworking.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Rhea Mitchell, a brother ,Thomas Mitchell of California, and former wife Edna Mitchell. His presence will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
