Obituary of Wilbur Berni

Wilbur R. Berni, 84, of Minotola passed away on November 20, 2011 at SJH -Elmer after battling a long illness. Wilbur grew up in Landisville and attended Vineland High School. He joined the Navy in 1945 at the end of WWII, and served on the minesweeper USS Impeccable in the Pacific. He returned to Vineland High and graduated in 1947, where he met his future wife, Evelyn Donzola. He entered thr Army in 1952 during the Korean Conflict and served at Valley Forge Army Hospital, attaining the rank of Corporal. For most of his career, Wilbur worked in the banking industry, beginning with Vineland national Bank and retiring from Core states as an assistant Vice president in 1989. During retirementt, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, woodworking and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. Wilbur also served as a member of American Legion Post 270 in Minotola for 50 years.
