Marina, Margaret and Family; I am sorry that I was unable to attend your father's services. I will always remember the many times I visited his office over the years and the house calls he made to our home. Most of all I will remember his smile, you know, the one he used whenever he saw you. Landisville has lost another great man. Please accept my condolences. Joe Pustizzi, Jr.

It saddens me to hear about Dr. Mattioli's passing. When I am reflecting on the past, growing up in East Vineland, Dr. Mattioli is one of those icons that always stands out in my memory. He was such a wonderful kind man, and as a child, you were never afraid to visit the doctor. He was an excellant diagnostician and very caring. To this day, the standards and examples he set are those I seek in medical care. When my grandmother was still alive, he would always ask my mother about her when we saw him. In later years when I moved to Minotola, I would often run into him about town, and when my mother was alive, he would always ask about her. And when he saw my mother, he would ask about me. He never forgot us. I will never forget him.

I was a patient of Dr. Mattioli when I was a child living in Minotola. He was able to communicate to my mother whose native language is Italian and who was from the area of Italy where he studied to be a doctor so they could understand each other’s Italian dialect. I remember him operating on my foot in the basement of his office. He used gas for anesthesia and did the surgery but I had to go to Vineland, Newcomb Hospital anyway. He tried to do what he could at the time with what he had to use to spare us from a hospital visit. Reading his biography, I can see how he lived his life serving others. We moved from Minotola when I was in Cleary School after my father passed away but I always liked the small town with its doctor, post office, schools, and sidewalks.

I WAS ONE OF THE FORTUNATE YOUNG MOTHERS DR. MATTIOLI ATTENDED. HE WAS SWEET, ATTENTIVE AND TRULY LOVING. I DELIVERED MY DEAR, DEPARTED SON KEVIN THOMPSON ON APRIL 29TH 1970. LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT HE WOULD LEAVE THIS EARTH IN A TRAGIC CAR ACCIDENT WHEN HE WAS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE WAY DR. MATTIOLI TREATED ME AND HOW HE CAUGHT A QUICK NAP ON THE FOOT OF MY BED UNTIL I WAS READY TO DELIVER. MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP HIS FAMILY. SHIRLEY THOMPSON-ASKEW MOTHER OF KEVIN MARCUS THOMPSON

He was the best doctor God put on this earth. Genuine in every way. He listened to you and cared about you and did everything he knew to help you get better. He made a housecall when we couldnt come to him and we greatly appreciated it. It has been 12 years since we moved to Virginia and would have drove 450 miles to see him when we were sick if we could have. God has a special place in Heaven for Dr Mattioli. He was always a special angel even here on earth.

I will cherish Dr. Mattioli the rest of my life. He once told me I am not just his patient but his friend. Words cannot begin to let you know just how much Dr. Mattioli meant to me and my children. Never in my lifetime could their ever be anyone who could ever be the man or the doctor he was. Myself and his loved ones were blessed when God put him on this earth to heal us and to love us. When you were waiting in his office to see him and he walked into the room his smile and kind words made your heart, mind and body sparkle. I always knew that my family and myself were always in good hands with Dr Mattioli. Dr. Mattioli will shine in heaven just as he did on earth, and in my heart forever and ever. I Love you Dr. Mattioli. Your friend and former patients, Jackie Lemoine and sons Vineland N.J.
