Obituary of Anthony Nicholas Magolda

Anthony Nicholas Magolda,60, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 19, 2008. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Linda Thomas Magolda. Tony was fortunate that his hobbies as a young man of target shooting and gun collecting evolved into a passionate career as Founder and CEO of Lawmen Supply Company of New Jersey, Delaware and Washington, D.C. Welcomed at the State Department, Pentagon, United Nations and FBI, among others, Tony was well respected and admired in the law enforcement community. Throughout his career, his most valued and gratifying relationships were with the New Jersey State Police and local municipalities of New Jersey. Tony served two terms as President of the National Association of Police Equipment Distributors. Along with local community leaders and law enforcement members, Tony was instrumental in founding the National Vest-A-Cop program to provide all law enforcement officers with state-of-the-art ballistic vests. He was the tresurer of Cumberland Rifleman for the past twenty years. He was a competitive high-power rifle marksman. As a graduate of Quincy College, Quincy, Illinois, Tony majored in History. He was an avid reader and was especially interested in military history. In his college days, he loved cars and drag racing. He is survived by his sister Lucille Magolda Pettisani and her husband Dr. Frank A. Pettisani, Mother-in-law, Rita Lanegan Thomas, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Greg and Nancy Thomas, Maria and Steve Luginbill, Patrick and Tammy Thomas, and Frank and Angela Vuitch. His many nieces and nephews will miss Uncle Butch or Uncle Tony. He was fortunate, as well, to have a wonderful circle of friends. Last but not least, he was devoted to his four beloved Chihuahuas. He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Anthony F. Magolda and Laura Camilli Magolda, and also predeceased by his sister Laura Rogers and her husband, William Rogers.
