Obituary of Alvin Lankin

AL LANKIN C0-OWNER OF AL'S SHOE'S Al Lankin, 69, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008, at South Jersey Hospicecare Center in Bridgeton. Born in Bridgeton her was an area resident most of his life. After graduating Vineland High School in 1957, he enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. After his military discharge he worked at Kimble Glass and attended Temple University. On July 3, 1965 he married Theresa Riccobono. Al was employed by Miles Shoe Store prior to owning and operating Al's Shoes with his late wife Theresa and son Brian from 1979 to the present. He played basketball, track and football for Vineland High and was a member of the 1955 football state championship team. Al was a board member and past secretary of the Vineland Downtown Improvement District. He especially enjoyed the boardwalk and beach with his late wife Theresa.
