Obituary of Charles J. Land

Charles J. Land, 85, of Vineland passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the NJ Veterans memorial Home. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles and Bernadine Land. Prior to moving to Vineland in 2008, he was a resident of New Port Richey, Fl. for 28 years. before he retired, he was employed at the Philadelphia Ship Yard. Charles was a 20 year Veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific during World War II and the Korean War. Charles was a member of the Fleet Reserve while residing in Florida. he enjoyed attending yearly reunions for the US Hutchins, the ship he served on during WWII. Charles was a longtime Phillies fan and enjoyed talking baseball with his grandson.
