Obituary of Kurt Kaufmann

Kurt Karl Kaufmann died September 25, 2024. Kurt was born in 1928 in Grosskrotzenburg, Germany. He immigrated to the United States with his brother and parents in 1939 seeking religious freedom and economic opportunity. The family settled on a dairy farm in Woodstown, NJ. Kurt attended Woodstown High School where he excelled at basketball. After high school, he attended Drexel University where he met Connie, his wife of nearly sixty years, who predeceased him in 2012. Kurt is best known as the founder and proprietor of Kurt's Package Store in Elsinboro, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. He was grateful to have been accepted by his adopted community and served that community for decades on both the school board and the planning/zoning board. Kurt is survived by his loving long-time companion Blossom Frankel; his children, Janet Wagner (George), Nancy Davis (Tom), Lance Kaufmann (Theresa), and Jodi Garofolo (Greg). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Kurt supported many charities. Those wishing to honor him may do so with a contribution in his memory to the charity of their choice. A graveside service and burial will be held Friday, September 27 at 2:00 pm from Alliance Cemetery, 970 Gershal Ave, Norma.
