Obituary of Philomena Lauria

Philomena "Phyllis" Lucy Lauria, 91, of Vineland, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2024. Philomena was born in Bridgeton, NJ and raised in Vineland, NJ, where she remained a lifelong resident. She dedicated her working years to serving those who served at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland and in retirement, she found joy in simple pleasures such as playing pinochle with friends or cherishing time with her family and feline companions. Her resilience in the face of life's adversities was a testament to her character, serving as a beacon of strength and guiding light to her loved ones. She was an extraordinary woman who embraced life with a sassy charm uniquely her own and an indomitable spirit matched only by her infinite love for her friends and family. She is survived by her children, John Lauria Jr. (Charlotte) and Diane Lauria; her brother, Anthony Ardito (Kathy); her grandchildren, Jennifer, John III, Christina, and Amanda; her great grandchildren; and her nephews. Philomena was predeceased by her husband, John Lauria; her parents, Vito and Marion Ardito; her sister, Marie Butcher; and her grandson, Allen Swift. A beloved mother, cherished grandmother, treasured sister, and dear friend, Philomena will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A church visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral mass at 11am from Divine Mercy Parish, 23 West Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
