Obituary of Kurt Joseph
Kurt Joseph, 89 passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at South Jersey Healthcare Hospice in Bridgeton. Born in Aach-bei-Trier, Germany, to the late Salomon and Emma (Levy) Joseph, he escaped Germany on "Kristell Nacht" (Night of Broken Glass) in 1938 and was a Holocaust survivo, moving to the United States in 1938 Mr. Joseph served in the Army during World War II with the rank of Staff Sgt. He moved to Vineland with his wife Hilde and they started a poultry and eff business on Almond Road. In 1963 he opened Kurt's Kosher Poultry until his retirment in 1985. He was an avid gardener. He was a member of Sons of Jacob Congregation and the Jewsih War Veterans.
