Our sincerest condolences to “Uncle Albert’s” devoted and loving family. Having come to the family by way of my sister Donna marrying Dennis Carolla, I did not know Albert that well. However, I was pleased to encounter him at the numerous family gatherings over the years. I was struck by the large numbers of people who surrounded him, obvious fans of all ages. I couldn’t help smiling at him each time, for I could see why he was so popular. His mischievous smile and twinkling eyes were indications of the anecdotes and family tales he likely was sharing. I imagine that he was a humble hero, for I did not hear lots of war stories in his conversations. But I was fascinated to learn of his heroism and patriotism through his military service. His life story is one of which his devoted family can be proud, and I’m certain that he was so proud in turn of the fine family that is his legacy.
