Obituary of Lydia E Vargas

Lydia E Vargas, 87, of Vineland was born on January 21, 1935 in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico to the late Luis Martinez and Angelica Kortright. She was called to the Lord on December 1, 2022. Lydia was the caring wife of the late Juan R. Vargas. She was a retired Truant Officer for the Vineland Board of Education. She was a community activist, who took pride in helping when needed. Lydia will be forever loved and missed by her community, her family and loved ones. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn; son John "Alex"; grandchildren, Jennifer, Joseph Jr., Kevin, Pierre Jr., Andre and Alexandra; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Along with her husband she is predeceased by her son Pierre. Funeral home visitations will be held on Tuesday evening, December 6th from 6pm to 8pm and again on Wednesday morning from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
