Obituary of Joyce Murray
Sometimes families are blessed to have a member among them that is the glue and focal point in which they look to. For our family, that was Joyce (Buffa) Murray. She was in every essence, our rock. Joyce was born on July 10th 1944 in Vineland NJ. She passed away at the age of 78
peacefully in the early evening of November 29th 2022 with her family by her side.
Joyce was the daughter of the late Carlo & Lena Buffa. She is survived by her husband and team mate of over 58yrs, Louis Murray; sons, Michael Murray (Karen) and David Murray; daughter, Michele Masso (Joseph); grandchildren, Anthony Grochowski , Alexa Grochowski and Mason Murray; grand dog, Cody Murray and her brother, Joseph Buffa
She started work as a seamstress. She also worked in the family business, "Wheat Road Cold
Cuts Deli" for 10 years where Joyce made subs, ran the deli and worked in catering. Joyce loved cooking at home making homemade meatballs and crab cakes for family and friends.
At the heart of her enjoyment are her kids and grandkids. Joyce worked side by side in the Deli
business with her son Michael. She talked to Michele every morning for that 7am phone call and
made David chicken cheesesteaks. She also looked forward to seeing and hearing about her
grandchildren's accomplishments. That included her grandson Anthony opening his own excavating business, granddaughter Alexa graduating Nursing school from James Madison University and her youngest grandson Mason who entered into High School at Delsea as a
freshman to be a pole vaulter. The kids are everything to her.
Joyce had many friends and relatives, some who have even referred to her as "mom". She had
one of those personalities that people just took to. Last, but not least, Joyce`s husband Lou.
Joyce and Lou raised a family together in their Franklin Twp. home. Together they worked hard
with each other to provide their kids with the best opportunity they could in life. Joyce is missed
to an extent explainable only by tears. She was a daughter, a wife and most of all a mother. Being separated only by time may she rest easy until we see each other again.
We love you. "What the caterpillar is to the butterfly, the body is to the Spirit" (anon)
