Obituary of Augusta Badaracco

Augusta (Ascione) Badaracco, 74, of Vineland, passed away on November 16, 2022. She immigrated to the United States in 1955 from Italy when she was seven years old along with her parents and her four sisters. She has been a Vineland resident ever since. Augusta may not have been blessed with her own children, but she was loved and admired by her many nieces and nephews and as a teacher she was a mother to all her students. She taught school for 39 years until here retirement in 2010. She met and married the love of her life Dennis and had been happily married for over 40 years. Augusta loved her visits to Ocean City, riding bikes on the boardwalk and eating Johnson's Carmel Popcorn. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was very compassionate and giving woman. She enjoyed volunteering for the Altar Rosary Society and lunches with her fellow Red Hat Society friends. As her family and friends we have been inspired by her strength, courage and grace through her horrific battle with cancer. Our hearts are broken and we will miss our Augusta, but the memory of her smile and her strength will carry us forever. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dennis Badaracco; sisters, Angela Campopiano (Pasquale), Antoinette Pascarella (Gabriel) and Madeline Zucal; brother-in-law, Walter Badaracco and many nieces and nephews. Augusta was predeceased by her parents, John and Rose Ascione; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Renato Pitocchi; brothers-in-law, Anthony Giacalone and Charles Zucal; nephew, Steven Giacalone; great-nephew, Ronald K Brownlee Jr; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen & Tom Kinka and Doris & Lou Galetto and sister-in-law Dolores Badaracco. A church visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 8:00am to 10:30am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of St. Mary's, 736 Union Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
