Obituary of Martha Elena Arceo

It is with great sadness that the family of Martha Elena Arceo Griego, 70, of Alma, Kansas, announce her death. Martha passed peacefully on November 5, 2022, surrounded by her beloved four sons. Martha was, first and foremost, a devoted, loyal mother, respected for both her parenting and her nature as a mother. She instilled her values and the importance of education in her children. Martha lives on in the memory of her family and is survived by her sons Javier (Linda) of Ocean City, NJ; Saul of Plano, TX; Noe (Trisha) of Tallahassee, FL; and Marco (Josie) of Norman, OK; 10 grandchildren Niko, Karina, Evan, Teagan, Nolan, Collison, Heston, Porter, Fisher and Enzo; five brothers and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her parents, Abel and Maria; husband, Javier, Sr. and her brothers, Mario and Ramon. Martha was a well-known member of the community in Alma, Kansas, having spent over 30 years providing affectionate childcare to many children and their families. A true champion of every child she met, many will remember Martha for her unique ability to connect and nurture children. Martha was recognized as the "Provider of the Year" by the Childcare Provider's Coalition of Kansas. Martha retired from childcare several years ago to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. Martha was also known as a daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend - all roles she took seriously, with great love and passion. Martha selflessly gave her time, love and talents to all. She was a gifted home cook and would share her love of cooking with her family and the community, often preparing meals for those in need. Her door was always open, and she loved making time for everyone who reached out, always providing caring, trustworthy, and sound counsel. There will be a private visitation and funeral mass followed by an entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery-Mays Landing.
