Obituary of Thomas L. Cerino

Thomas Cerino, 83, of Newfield passed away on November 2, 2022 in his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Tom was born in Glassboro to Georgiana and Thomas Cerino. He graduated from Glassboro High School in 1958. He married, moved to Malaga, and worked for the Gloucester County Highway Department as a mechanic. He eventually became a foreman, and worked there until his retirement in 1999. Tom enjoyed vegetable gardening and loved to share produce that he grew or bought from local markets with everyone that he knew. His love of gardening was inspired in part by the summers that he enjoyed spending at his uncle's farm when he was young. As a skilled mechanic and handyman, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends, and neighbors. He enjoyed simple pleasures, always doing something around the house or yard. He loved visits with his sisters and family, holiday dinners, and dining out with loved ones. Tom is survived by his daughter, Angela Cerino; sisters, Josephine Wiemer and Rachella Mettetal; and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Carmella Cerino, and his loving parents, Georgiana and Thomas Cerino. A church visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 9:15am to 11:15am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of Saint Rose Of Lima, 104 Catawba Avenue, Newfield. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Victories Cemetery, Landisville.
