Frances Soloway born June 4, 1933, raised on Harrison Avenue in the Bronx, an era when women did not pursue college. She was faced with getting a job or going to school. She matriculated at NYU where she met her beloved Warren, to whom she was married nearly 70 years before he predeceased her. Love at first sight, he proposed on the first date, she declined, after graduation they did marry. Frances was a member of the graduating class of 1955, with a BS. in, commerce, accounts and finance.
The mother of Dr. Stephen Soloway MD. A very proud mother, a highly driven mother motivating her son each moment of each day, whether holding his hand each morning on the way to first grade, or taking him shopping for baseball cards every Friday. Her inspiration, love, devotion and unwavering commitment to family unfettered, she assisted her husband in his business, assisted her son achieve his life dream of a medical doctor. As a mother she never mixed parenting and friendship. She stated" "Mother's Day", is for those that don't know their mother. Her son never needs to show up for Mother's Day as he was a good son all days and she considered every day Mother's Day." While not a fan of the kitchen, she cooked chicken Parmesan on her son's birthday perennially. Never took no for an answer never took lazy as an excuse.
An outstanding wife, daughter, granddaughter, grandmother, sister and aunt. All nieces and nephews have innumerable fond memories, as they were not her children, she let her guard down and was a wonderful friend to all in or out of the family.
She adored her grandfather, Samuel Hartnick, the name sake of her son, she cherished her grandchildren, their presence enhanced her life for more than the children would or could ever imagine.
After her husband Warren her best friends was her mother and father, there was a tremendous sisterhood formed with her 3 sister in-laws, they were all lifelong friends. She was a role model for nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. Being such a terrific mother her dream to die with dignity, never sleeping inside a nursing home, never tortured as a hospital patient, proves her legacy was "The Ultimate Mother".
There is a special place in heaven as she will join Warren, Sam and Sarah, Anna and David, Harriet and Lucille. Those left behind to cherish her memories, include Stephen, Alyxandra(Adam), Jacob, Edith, Laurie, Matthew, Billy, Mitchell, Martin, Louise
