Steven DeFelice

Obituary of Steven C DeFelice

Steven DeFelice, 66, of Millville, passed away on December 3, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, in Philadelphia. He was raised in Landisville, NJ and graduated from Vineland High School Class of 1973. He earned a degree from Antonelli's School of Art and Photography. Steven was a community liaison with Hopeloft, in Bridgeton, and was a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties. Prior to his employment at Hopeloft, Steven worked at SNJ Today, Great Wolf Lodge, Taj Mahal, and Wheaton Village. He was a member and former Vice-President of the Bridgeton Lions Club and volunteered his time with Code Blue for the past 7 years. Steven was a fun-loving, jovial, and uber-talented individual who enjoyed bringing smiles to everyone's faces. His love for humanity was evident to anyone and everyone who met him. Steven always had a song in his heart and never hesitated to sing the lyrics circulating in his soul to anyone within earshot. He was a skilled musician and lead singer with the well-loved, funkdafied group, Funkylicious. Also, whenever there was a special gala or community shindig, especially if it was a celebration of community members who spent their time helping those in need, Steven was there with his camera to document the festivities. Steven was the definition of someone who lived by the phrase "Love Thy Neighbor" whatever the color, whatever the creed. His love for others manifested in the way he interacted with his fellow human beings. Many times, after having a conversation with Steven, we left it feeling a little bit better about ourselves and the world we live in. Steven is survived by his daughter Adina Maria; son Marcello DeFelice and wife, Kristin (Glaspey), and grandchildren Landon and Lillie DeFelice. He is also survived by his loving companion, Valerie Ridgway Carter. Steven was predeceased by his mother Viola DeFelice Parker, his father Frank DeFelice and his stepfather Ted Parker. He was also predeceased by his brothers Jerald, Frank, and Thomas. Due to COVID there will be no services at this time. There will be a memorial service celebrating of Steven's life in the summer of 2021. Details will follow, shortly. To help support his family with his final expenses, CASA of Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem and SNJ Today are collecting donations. Please join us in helping alleviate the burden of that cost during this difficult, heartbreaking time. We deeply appreciate your generosity. Any funds raised above the goal will be donated to CASA CGS. CASA CGS supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive. Steve was passionate about being an advocate. We invite you to watch a tribute video on the Go Fund Me page so that you may hear his legacy in his own words. https://www.gofundme.com/f/steven-defelice-memorial-fund ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360 To send online condolences please visit our website at www.RONEFUNERALSERVICE.com
