Obituary of Marie Grace Gore

Marie Grace Gore, 83, of Vineland was called home by our Heavenly Father on October 15th, 2007. Marie was born on November 21st, 1923 in Rochester, NY to Thomas & Doloris Giarrizzo. Prior to her marriage, during World War II, Marie worked as a secretary for Lt Col Mahlon Gore at the Quarter Master Depot in Indiana. She married his son, Tom, and shortly after moved to Vineland where they resided for over 50 years. Marie was a devoted wife and mother. After raising her children, Marie worked as an instructional assistant for children with disabilities at D’Ippolito Elementary School. Marie was a member of Sacred Heart Church and contributed to many charities. She enjoyed china painting, needlepoint, shopping and cooking. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her children, Richard Gore of Vineland, Susan Schalick, Mary Schalick and her husband Maj Tim Schalick, USAF (Ret) of Mesa, AZ, her sister Catherine Gullace and her husband Anthony of Phoenix, MD, 11 grandchildren, and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Mahlon “Tom” Gore, oldest son David, and granddaughter Elizabeth Joy Schalick. A visitation will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 24th, at Sacred Heart Church, 1010 E. Landis Avenue, Vineland. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 741 E. Walnut Road, Vineland. Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360.
