Obituary of Florence Eva Giercyk

Florence Eva (Kupetz) Giercyk passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, September 23, 2007. She was 84 years old. She was born second to the youngest of ten children to George and Anna Kupetz of Milmay, NJ on March 11, 1923. She graduated from Vineland Senior High School in 1941. She was very proud of being the Captain of the girls basketball team. She married the love of her life, Joseph Giercyk, on October 29, 1949. She worked as secretary in Northern New Jersey and also at Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville, NJ from 1941 through 1953. She lived in Milmay all of her life. Her greatest joy was being a homemaker, wife and mother to her husband and two children. She was of Catholic faith and a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church, East Vineland, NJ. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph Giercyk of Milmay, NJ, daughter, Jo Ann (Giercyk) Jaffe and granddaughter Celina Jaffe of Bloomington, Indiana; son, Joseph Giercyk, Jr. of Milmay, granddaughter Alexandra Jaffe and family of Lakewood, Calif., grandson Christopher Jaffe and family of Bloomington, Indiana. She also will be missed by Janiece Pachuilo and baby Benjamin Jaffe. She will be sadly missed by Janiece Jaffe, and Hazel and Charles Davis. Her beautiful smile and spirit will be missed by those who loved her dearly.
