Obituary of Olga Fiocchi
On March 19, 2008, Olga (DiGiacobbe) Fiocchi peacefully left this world to be reunited with her loved ones in Heaven. Although she will be greatly missed by those left behind, her lively spirit will live on in their hearts. Just as spring marks the beginnings of re-birth and awakening, comfort can be taken with the knowledge that Olga has also celebrated a re-birth and has awakened to the splendors of eternal life and happiness.
Olga was born in Wilmington , Delaware. Spending her early years in Philadelphia, Olga also lived in Vineland, New Jersey where she and her husband, Gene, raised two remarkable and devoted sons, Eugene and Dennis. During her years in Vineland, Olga and her family were members of Sacred Heart Church. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters.
After the passing of her husband, Olga moved to Atlantic City and Margate where she continued to courageously meet the obstacles that life directed down her path. Because of her positive attitude, Olga enjoyed life unwavering in her belief that all problems, no matter how large or small, had a viable solution. This attitude led to a sense of adventure and determination that will surely be missed by all. Olga fulfilled her goal of receving her certification in cosmetology alongside of her sisters Carol, Lillian and Betty, working in that profession in various establishments in and around the Atlantic City area and Margate, most noteably at The Warwick and Vassar Square. She was instrumental in the success of the former Fiocchi Erection Company in Vineland. She also functined as a cashier and sales person at Olde Tyme Treats in Ventnor.
Because her love for her family was of the utmost importance to her, Olga was a devoted and nurturing mother who loved her sons deeply. Additionally, Olga enjoyed shopping and casino trips with her friends and sister, Betty. She laughingly and eagerly shared the accounts of these frequent excursions demonstrating her love of life. Olga also loved art and enjoyed schetching fashion models from magazines and taking long walks on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.Among some of Olga's most prized possessions were her photographs. She took great pride in sharing these photos as well as narrating the story behind each and everyone. Olga's precious memories were very dear to her and she kept them safely in her heart.
Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Eugene and his wife, Susan Fiocchi of Philadelphia, and Dennis Fiocchi of Voorhees, NJ. (step-grandson, Michael Molino) Olga is also survived by her sisters, Betty Lento of Margate, NJ, Emma Lala of Philadelphia, PA, Philomena Gisondi of Vineland, NJ, and Carol and her husband Bill Frasch of Polk City, Florida. Also survived by brother-in-law, Virgil Fanucci of Richland, NJ. and other in-laws. Additionally, Olga is survived by many nieces and nephews including Curtis Frasch whom she helped raise along with sisters.
Olga was pre-deceased by her husband, Eugene J. Fiocchi in 1978. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Giocomo and Giacinto DiGiacobbe and her brother, Dominic, and her sister Lillian and other relatives.
