Obituary of Alfred J Festa

Alfred Festa Sr. 77 of Vineland passed away Friday Dec 29 at the Atlantic City Medical Center Mainland Division. Born in Vineland, Al was a life long resident. He was a 1947 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. He formerly owned & operated A. Festa & Son Clothing Store in Vineland. He was a bus driver for the Vineland Board Of Education. Al was a painter for the State of NJ. at Ancora Hospital and the Vineland Developmental Center. After his retirement in 1989, Al was the security guard at Rone Funeral Service for many years. He also drove patients to and from medical office of Dr Rodis in Millville. He then was a food delivery driver for Buddy's Bagels. He was an Honorary Sheriff's Deputy for Cumberland County. Former member of the Landis Country Club, Recreation Club & the North Italy Club. He was a parishioner of Saint Isidore's Church. He was a coach & manager for the Exchange Club in the Vineland Little League. Al entered the Vineland Fire Department in 1955 and retired in 2000. He served Company 1 as a Line Officer in the position of Lieutenant & Sergeant of Arms, and was named Firefighter of the Year in 1992. Al was a Life member of the NJ State Fireman's Relief Association. A member of the NJ State Exempt Association. Member of the Cumberland County Firefighters & EMS Association. He was a Lieutenant of the Cumberland County Fire Police Association. He was a representative for Company 1 to the Vineland Relief Association #372. He was a member of the Vineland Exempt Firefighters Association.
