Obituary of Mary Josephine Asselta

Mary J (Gergenti) Asselta, 85 passed away Friday May 18, 2007 at home in Vineland. Born in Rosenhayn, NJ, to Joseph and Virginia Gergenti, she was a resident of Vineland most of her life. Mary was schooled during the polio epidemic and graduated as an LPN from Knickerbocker Hospital in New York in 1946. After being awarded a scholarship from Millville Hospital she returned to school and graduated from Cumberland County College in 1976 as a Registered Nurse. She was employed for more then 32 years with Millville Hospital and after her retirement she continued to work as a private duty nurse for Mater Dei Nursing Home and Genesis Healthcare. Mary enjoyed trips to the Casino's and most of all her family, and was well known for as the nurse to her family, her friends and neighbors for many years. She was a memberof St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
