Obituary of Daniel K. DeTullio

Daniel Kevin DeTullio Sr. 54 of Millville passed away suddenly Saturday December 3, 2011. Dan was a life-long resident of Millville and graduated Millville High School in 1975. He attended Cumberland county College. Dan worked at R-Way tooling until 1980, when he gegan woring for the New Jersey State Correctional Department, where he retired, as a lieutenant in 2005. Dan was instrumental in planning and building the Thunderbold Club, where he could be found cooking for many of sports banquets, honoring Millville High School Teams. most recently he cooked the Thanksgiving Day breakfasst for the football team. Dan also was a member of the South Jersey Scramblers Eduro club. Dan was inducted to the Thundrbolt Hall of Fame in 1980 and S.J. Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1996. As a Millville High Senior, he maintained a perfect record of 34 and 0 in the heavy weight devision. His wins included the Edgewood Christmas Tournament, District 32 and Region 8 tournament and ended his career by winning the State Championship with a pin. Dan also played football for 3 years. Dan remained an avid football and wrestling fan who bled orange and blue. After retirement Dan enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: bird huntind with his dogs Casey and Lacy, playing poker, and bass fishing. Dan was famous for his quick witt and great joke telling. He was a larger then life character who lived life to its fullest. Dan has joined his friend "Big Frank" of gods great bass fishing lake and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Cynthia Ann (Rafine) DeTullio, son Daniel Keven DeTullio Jr. and daughter Andrea Nicole DeTullio, his mother vivian DeTullio, brothers and their wives Albert "Ricky" & Donna, and David & Melody, Sisters and their husbands Diane & Bob Williams, and Karen & Bob Legg. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws. Dan was predeceased by his father Albert Detullio.
