Obituary of Antoinette Zappariello

Antoinette Zappariello, 96, of Vineland, New Jersey passed away peacefully after a full life of love and service to others. Antoinette was born in Vineland, New Jersey to Angelo and Theresa Mercogliano on November 30, 1921. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1940 and worked at Kimble Glass supporting the war efforts making supplies for the military during World War II. Antoinette married Dominick, the love of her life, in 1945 and they enjoyed 25 years of happiness together. She resumed her education in 1973 after Dominick's passing and attended Cumberland County College working towards her Associates Degree in Education. Antoinette was an employee of the Vineland School district working in many of the district schools as a cafeteria manager and enjoying many wonderful friendships. Antoinette loved her family and friends, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. She was an exceptional cook and baker and took great pleasure in preparing food for those she loved. Antoinette enjoyed being with people of all ages. She was an avid card player and a member of several card groups. Antoinette was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish, and served on Parish Council. She was very civic-minded and was involved in many community organizations. Antoinette enjoyed life and leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. At Antoinette's request, do something nice for a family member or friend, smile at a stranger and remember her on her birthday, November 30th. Antoinette is preceded in death by her dear husband Dominick. She is survived by her sister, Anne Scarpa of Vineland, NJ, her son Anthony 'Tony' Zappariello and her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Chuck McMullin. She is also survived by her granddaughters Lauren Doran (husband Andrew), and Dayna McMullin as well as her two great-granddaughters. Antoinette also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15th at Sacred Heart Church on Landis Avenue at 11:00AM followed by Mass at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fisher House Foundation, a group that provides comfort homes to members of the military and to veterans when loved ones are hospitalized - https://www.fisherhouse.org/ Rone Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
