They say angels walk among us, we just don't know it. Well we have indeed such an angel, Nancy DeStefano, was such a lady. To those who knew our dear Nancy have known what its like to be near an angel. I have the privilege to be her grandson, and it is truly is an honor to be here today, as we remember this beautiful woman.
Life can be thought of as stages if you will, God grants us life, with our birth we come into this world. We play and enjoy life in our youth.
We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, Which by the way, Happy Birthday, Grandma Nancy who turned 96 this past 25th of March.
After our youth, than we must grow up and learn what it means to be an adult. To work and start a family, to share joy and laughter, yes to share some tears as well. Than when this life has come to the end. And we stand before our Creator and our life is on display before us. What type of life have we truly lived?
Nancy DeStefano was a woman, who enjoyed life, and the blessings that God has given her.
One of Grandma's favorite things to do was travel and she loved to play blackjack, and her favorite baseball team was the Phillies, and you never bad mouth her team, or you were in for a world of hurt. My Grandma gave me the nickname Little PeePee. So if you couldn’t guessed, She had a great sense of humor. And she could be very bold and determined when she needed to be.
She was a woman of wonder, and she loved to cooked good old fashion Italian meals. Where you make Sauce all day, for your family. She poured her Heart into the Every meal.
Nancy had an amazing spirit, she loved her family, and more than anything she loved her Lord.
Nancy was married to the love of her life, Grandpa Frank DeStefano Sr. Their bond was so strong, and now they both rest in the arms of our Lord. They leave behind their beloved son Frank DeStefano Jr. who has his mother's heart and his father's fighting spirit.
I have learned so much about this amazing woman from her son, that I am truly in wonder of her. To know Grandma Nancy, and how sweet she was and kind she was, and yet could put you in your place in a second.
Grandma may your light forever shine and your memory live on, in those who took the time to be in your life. And for those who missed out, you just missed an Angel walk among you, while you looked away.
Grandma Nancy knew who loved her and who was true to her and her memory will be forever ours to remember.
I will always remember you as a woman of Grace, a woman of Faith, and a woman of Strength.
Sincerely
