Obituary of Ruth E. Amadei

Ruth (Belfi) Amadei, age 91 passed away, unexpectedly and suddenly on May 16, 2017 at Inspira Health Network. Born in Vineland, Ruth was predeceased by her husband William Amadei. Married to "Willie" for 67 years, Ruth was a homemaker and amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She made delicious family meals, cookies, cakes, soups, raviolis and tortellinis, all by scratch. Her door was always open (and often times revolving) for a meal or a cup of tea and some conversation. Sunday breakfasts were a family favorite and often times too crowded to get in the driveway. While her husband worked as an auto mechanic, Ruth helped out in their garden weeding and hoeing. At harvest time, she would have plans to jar, pickle, freeze, and store the reap for later use. August was a great time of year to use Jersey tomatoes. Many jars of tomato puree and juice would be made and passed out to family members. Even after following her recipes exactly, your own food never came out as good as hers. Ruth is also predeceased by her son, William "Bill" Amadei, her parents John and Edith Belfi, her sister Louise Catti (Joe), brothers, Thomas Belfi (Joan), Lewis "Bill" Belfi, and Edward Belfi. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Platoni (Robert), Brenda Brown (Michael), daughter in law Debbie Amadei, and sister in law, June Belfi, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ruthie, Mom, Mommom, Gramz - we cherished you beyond belief and will forever love and miss you.
