Obituary of Alice A D'Alessandro

Alice (Vai) D'Alessandro passed away peacefully at Inspira Hospital on October 12, 2016 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her father Louis Vai and her mother Laura Boyd. Alice was born in Millville and was a lifetime resident of Vineland. She attended Vineland schools and was a graduate of Vineland High School , class of 1947. She worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone from 1947 - 1952 as a telephone operator. Worked at Vineland Poultry Labs, and attended Vineland Beauty School and practiced hairdressing for many years. Alice also worked for Vineland Savings & Loan for 5 years and then moved on to work for First Peoples Bank for 20 years and stayed after it became Minotola National Bank. She moved to California and worked for Bank of America for 3 years. Alice moved back to Vineland and worked for Minotola National Bank for 16 years until her retirement. When Alice retired she volunteered at South Jersey Regional Medical Center & also worked with LuAnn Fries at Picket Fence and loved to help her do crafts. Alice was an avid knitter, loved to play Pinochle and visit with her family & friends. Her greatest joy where her grandchildren who she was extremely proud of. Alice was active in Sacred Heart Church and The Ladies Auxiliary Lions Club. Alice resided at Spring Oak Assisted Living Center. Alice's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Spring Oak for all their outstanding care; especially her personal caregivers Bridgette and Jamie. Alice is survived by her daughters; Lynne Lepore (Robert) and Dyann Leonelli (Edward). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jared Lepore (Carly), Jason Lepore, Emily Lepore, Sara Leonelli and Katie Leonelli and one great-grandchild (Adalyn). In addition to her immediate family Alice had many nieces, nephews & great nieces. A funeral home visitation and service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Rone's Funeral Home, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A prayer service will be conducted at Rone's Funeral Home @ Noon. In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions can be made in Alice's name to: Spring Oak Assisted Living 1611 S.
