Obituary of Walter L Bucikowski

Walter Bucikowski, 81 of Vineland went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2016. Born in Edwardsville, PA. Walter served in the US Marine Corps after high school from 1953 until 1956. He moved to Vineland shortly after marrying Thelma (Scarpa) in 1957, together they raised four children and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. After his service in the Marines he worked for American Aviation Corporation in Stratford, Connecticut in missile security. Walter was employed by the Vineland Post office for 33 years as a letter carrier, was later president of the Postal Union for 10 years then delivery supervisor. After retirement, he worked as a school bus driver for the Vineland Public schools for 10 years. A faithful member of Christ the Good Shepard parish, Walter was also vice president and treasurer of St. Barbara RC Chapel of Vineland since 1976 where he was a loyal member who helped in the upkeep of this Scarpa family tradition. Walter enjoyed RV camping and travel with his family, vegetable gardening, and was a member of the Cumberland Riflemen of Millville. He treasured his time with his grandsons Eric and Glen, and was their number one fan at their concerts and soccer games. Walter is survived by his wife Thelma (Scarpa), daughters Susan Bucikowski and Cheryl Bucikowski, both of Galloway, and Marianne Bagliani and her husband Tony of Vineland, son Walter Bucikowski and his wife Zhakelina and their sons Eric and Glen, also of Galloway, sister Helen Tognetti and her husband Gene, sister Dolores Sincavage, and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Hedwig (Gaus) Bucikowski, his brother Andrew and five sisters; Celia, Laura, Florence, Irene, and Jenny. A church visitation will be held on Thursday June 2, from 9:30 am to 11:15 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am at Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
