Obituary of Giuseppe "Joe" Boccone

Guiseppe Pietro (Joe) Boccone, 67, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on June 19, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loved ones after an extended illness. Joe was born in Palermo, Sicily to the late Pietro and Epifania Boccone on May 1, 1948. He and his family immigrated to America in 1962, where he spent his teenage years in Brooklyn, NY and went on to faithfully serve his country in the Vietnam War. Joe worked as an award winning Pastry Chef at Resorts Casino and across the East Coast for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Sicilian American Club and Italian Cultural Foundation. He enjoyed collecting and learning about antiques, dancing, singing, and, above all else, spending time with his beloved family. He is survived by his son, Peter Boccone of Lynchburg, VA his daughter and son-in-law Nicolina and Maurice Jennings of New York, NY, his daughter Milissa Vitalone of Hammonton, and his sisters, Sara Vivirito, Rosa Marolda, Lina Louie, and Clorinda Blasse of Vineland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, and dear friends. He was preceded by his eldest sister, Providenza Riccobene, and his brother-in-law, Giovanni (John) Vivirito. Joe will live on in our memories and our time with him will be cherished always.
