Stephanie Hatten

Obituary of Stephanie M. Hatten

Stephanie Marie Hatten (Capo), 59, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Stephanie was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and a lifelong Vineland resident. She was a voracious reader, counting mysteries and crime novels as favorite genres. Though she enjoyed many trips to Aruba over the years, her very favorite spot in the entire world was close to home, on Strathmere Beach in New Jersey. There was no other place where she felt more peaceful and calm. Stephanie considered her children to be her ultimate life accomplishment and her greatest source of joy. Her love of and singular devotion to them was fierce and unparalleled. She would give up anything for their well being and make great sacrifices. The pride she exuded when she spoke about them was enormous. Her eldest child, Anthony Albert, is an honor student pursuing his Bachelor's Degree at Johnson and Wales University in the Baking and Pastry Arts program, and her beautiful daughter, Sarah Marie, is a sophomore honors scholar and varsity athlete at Arthur P. Schalick High School. Stephanie was predeceased by her parents, Sarah and Albert Capo, and by her brother, Dennis Capo. In addition to her children, she is survived by her husband, Anthony R. Hatten; her brother, James Capo; her aunts, Hattie, Eileen and Ann Cavaliero; her uncle, James Cavaliero. She was beloved by her niece and nephews, her wonderful best friends, and scores of cousins on both sides of her family. Her final day was spent surrounded by all of those she loved so much. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Parish (St. Francis), 23 West Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ. Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland
