Obituary of Leonard R Dolson

Leonard Rudolph Dolson, Sr, 73, passed away unexpectantly on Thursday, December 29, 2014, at his home in Vineland, NJ. He was born on May 24, 1941 in Bridgeton, NJ to Marcus Dolson and Doris (Whitaker) Coleman. After graduating Bridgeton High School in 1960, he served the US military as a MP in Germany from 1960-1963. He spent over 25 years as a package car driver for United Parcel Service before his retirement in the late 1990's, with an award for 25 years of safe driving. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 676. Leonard married Maria in 1965 in Vineland, NJ. They were happily married for 50 years. Len was an avid fisherman and golfer. He would often be seen making crab traps and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Maria and Len would spend many afternoons in Atlantic City and loved to travel. Len was predeceased by his parents Marcus and Doris; brother, Mark Dolson; sister, Catherine Dolson and his stepfather, Frank Coleman. Len is survived by his wife Maria; son Leonard Dolson Jr. (Tracy) and his daughter Anita Nicolo (Vincent) all of Vineland, NJ; brother Frank Dolson of Buena, NJ; sisters, Helen Langley of Millville NJ and Jackie Ayars of Bridgeton, NJ; sister-in-law Carol Dolson of Millville, NJ; brother and sister in-laws James & Kathryn Jost and John & Nancy Gallino both of Vineland, five grandchildren; Ana & Jena Nicolo, Gallina, Leonard & Joshua Dolson. He will be missed by his many beloved nieces and nephews. A Church Visitation will be on Friday, January 2 from 10:30am to 12pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:15 pm at Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland, NJ. Final Disposition will be private at the convenience of the family.
