Obituary of Leona Casazza

Leona Casazza, 99, passed away on January 5, 2007 at her home in Vineland. She was born on May 12, 1907 to the late, Peter and Catherine Callovini, in Oneida, Pa. At age seven she relocated to Vineland with her family so that her father could leave the coal mines and work in the outdoors. Leona attended East Vineland Schools until the death of her father when she had to leave so she could work to help her family farm. In 1928 Leona married John Casazza, Jr. and they settled in her current home and farm on E. Landis Ave. She lived there her entire life working with her husband until his sudden death in 1953. Leona continued the family business of farming until the late 1990's. Leona enjoyed making homemade ravioli and tortellini during the winter months for her family and friends. She enjoyed baking and sharing with all her family and friends.
