Obituary of Marie E. DiBiaso

Marie DiBiaso, 86, of Vineland passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 18 at her home. Marie graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1945. She was the captain of her basketball team and was nicknamed "Dead-eye DiBiaso" because she never missed a basket. She started working at the age of 14 at Barry's Sweet Shop in Vineland where she worked the grill. She had many different jobs including working at a bank and a radio station. She retired from the NJ Bell after 20 years of service. She was truly fortunate in that she enjoyed every job she had. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Europe and the Catskill Mountains with her friends, especially when her sister Mildred would joined her. She was so much fun to travel with that everyone always wanted to get on "Marie's Bus." She enjoyed many gatherings with her family, extended family and friends. Family was very important to Marie and she loved her family dearly. For many years every Saturday night Marie and her girlfriends would gather together to play cards. They had so much fun laughing and 'cutting-up' that they dubbed themselves the "Golden Girls". Marie was full of life, and very considerate and generous. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly. She is survived by her two sons; Paul and David Sungenis, her daughters; Sandi (Sungenis) Cotter and Donna Davis, grandsons; Paul "Pab" Sungenis, Tyler and David Schmittinger, granddaughters; Jennifer and Michelle Lore. Her nieces, Vivian Uebelacker (her BFF), Carol Ericksen, Denise DiBiaso, Michelle Brennan and Lisa Shima, nephews, Robert DiBiaso and Anthony Biagi and many great-nephews and nieces. Marie was predeceased by her parents, John "Blackie" and Mamie DiBiaso, her brothers, John "Dibby" and James "Shorty" DiBiaso and her sister Mildred Biagi.
