Obituary of Raymond J Cavagnaro

Raymond J. Cavagnaro, 64, of Pittsgrove, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Only son of the late John B. and Jeannine (Letellier) Cavagnaro, Ray was a graduate of St. Augustine's Prep (1967) and Villanova University (1970). He had a Master's Degree in education, and was a retired math teacher at Monroe Twp Board of Education, Williamstown High School. Recently, he loved working at Newfield National Bank. Ray was an avid hunter and beekeeper. He enjoyed summers working in his garden and watching his grandchildren play in the pool. Ray was a member of the Menantico Gun Club, Vineland Recreation Club, and the North Italy Beneficial Association. He lived life to the fullest and on his own terms, and felt that his greatest accomplishment was his three children. Predeceased by his mother and father, John B. and Jeannine (Letellier) Cavagnaro; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anthony and Sarah Van Hook; Uncle Pierre Letellier; Uncle William Cavagnaro; and his lifelong friend Hamilton Blackshear. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Susan (Van Hook) Cavagnaro of Pittsgrove; children Jeannine and Darin MacDonald of Pittsgrove, Raymond and Diane Cavagnaro of Newfield, and Mark Cavagnaro of Pittsgrove; grandchildren Sarafina Cavagnaro, Logan MacDonald, Lucienne MacDonald, and Sawyer MacDonald; Aunt Joan Letellier of Colorado Springs; Aunt Mary Cavagnaro of Vineland; and many cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A chapel visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 from 9 - 11:30 am, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:45 at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Villa Rossello, 1001 Main Road, Newfield. Internment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland. Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
