Obituary of Joseph "George" Berkowitz

George Berkowitz, of Hollywood, FL, formerly of Vineland, NJ, passed away on January 24, at the age of 95. He is survived by his beloved wife Doris of 67 years, devoted father to Harry (Debi) and Ryna (David), grandchildren Andrea (Jonathan), Marissa (Oren), Max, Sam and Perry, and two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He worked in his family's business, Berkowitz Feed Mill in Norma NJ, and then as an independent businessman. He was a graduate of the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. George served as the Army/Air Force Captain of the 17th Tactical Air Communication Squadron Force in the Pacific. He was an active participant and leader in the community and at Congregation Beth Israel, and generous supporter of many Jewish causes. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 26, at Rone Funeral Service 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. where friends will be received one hour prior, Burial will be in Alliance Cemetery, Norma, NJ.
