Obituary of Felix Santos Rodriguez

Felix Santos Rodriguez, 92, of Vineland, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Inspira Health Center in Vineland. He was born in Comerio, PR to the late Valeriano Santos & Castula Rodriguez. He has been a Vineland resident since 1950. Both he and his late wife Maria were the oldest of 10 in their respective families. They met here in Vineland after coming from PR, fell in love and were married. Felix worked in all aspects of farming before he starting working as a cook at Manischewitz Co and then at Eatmore Food Store before his retirement. He enjoyed tending to his gardens and animals. He loved trips to the casinos and horse races, but mostly spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even to the very end, his attention to detail was outstanding, he found meaning in the simplest objects and that everything had value. Of all his achievements in his long life, he was most proud of his large family whom he loved very much as they did in return. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Hilda & Luis A. Gordillo Sr.; son & daughter-in-law, Nelson & Marilou Santos; son, Hector Luis Santos; daughters, Luz Eneida and Eva Luz Santos; Grandson & wife, Derek & Laura (Sikking) Gordillo; grandson & girlfriend, Luis A. Gordillo Jr & Veronica Gonzalez; grandchildren, Diana Gordillo, Christina, Evelyn & Ricky; Great-grandchildren, Gianna Maria Gordillo, Gianni Luis Gordillo, Genesis, Desiree, Abigail & Brianna and great-grandson & girlfriend, Jeremy Gabe Salvo and Odalys; great-great granddaughter, Leeana; many other great-grandchildren & great-great grandchildren; brothers & sisters, Angelita, Cristina, Gloria, Cristobal, Jose Luis, Jose Antonio & Olympio Santos-Rodriguez, Rosa Amalia, Manuel & Carmelo Santos; numerous nieces and nephews. Felix was predeceased by his wife, Maria Antonia (Santiago) Santos; and his siblings, Carmelo, Moises & Carmen Milagros. Funeral Home Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 27 from 9am to 11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ.
