Obituary of Irving Isaac Zislin
Irving Zislin, of Urbandale, Iowa and formerly of Vineland passed away on November 13, 2013 following a brief illness. Irv was born in 1924, in Riverside, NJ to the late August & Lenora Zislin. He graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1942, then worked as a meat cutter and volunteer fireman until entering World War II later that year. He served in the US Air Force as a radio operator gunner in the 8th Air Force and was a crew member on a B-17 Flying Fortress stationed in Chelveston, England. After the war he entered Montclair State College where he graduated with a BA and MA in Business. It was there he met the love of his life and wife of 58 years Phyllis Donner. Irv started his career as a sales rep for Metropolitan Life, but took a break from sales as he was called back into the Air Force for one year during the Korean War. Upon his return he focused on his sales career and earned the designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He satisfied his political yearnings by serving as Health Director and as a commissioner for the Landis Sewage Authority for the city of Vineland. He also served as a long term director of Beth Israel Congregation, including two terms as President. He is survived Son & Daughter-in-law, Alex & Linda Zislin; Daughter & Son-in-law, Ellen & John Lamale; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Irv was predeceased by his Wife, Phyllis Zislin; Parents, August & Lenora Zislin; A Sister and 3 Brothers.

Irv loved to donate to charities that helped animals. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Irv's memory be made to any Animal Charity of your choice.
