Obituary of Ellen Lydon

Ellen (Wilkie) Lydon, 66, of Landisville New Jersey passed away on June 2, 2013. She was born in Woodbury on August 9th,1946 the only child of the late Walter and Ellen (Hansen) Wilkie. She was raised in Lindenwold. Ellen often recalled a wonderful childhood spent with her mother, father and cousins. In her early years Ellen worked for a bank. Most of her career however was dedicated to Glassboro High School where she worked tirelessly and held many positions including administrative assistant to the Principal of Glassboro High School until she retired in 2001. She was also very active in the school union. Ellen embraced life and lived it with joy. She loved the beach and spent years at Oceanview camp ground with her family and friends. She loved antiquing and travel… in particular her most recent trip to Williamsburg with her daughter Kim. Her greatest source of joy was family and she will be missed deeply by all of them. Ellen will always be remembered for possessing a great sense of humor and a generous spirit. She gave of herself expecting nothing in return. She was a loving mother and grandmother to daughter Kim Lydon, son Ray Brown, three grandchildren Adriana Pitman, Aubrey Rose Brown and Alex Brown, daughter-in-law Kelly Brown. She is also survived by cousin Cheryl, nephew Michael and friends.
