Obituary of Dominick Joseph Smaniotto

Dominick "Joe" Smaniotto, 86, passed away Thursday, March 14th peacefully at home. He was a devoted father of 8, grandfather of 10 and husband of 57 years. Joe was born in Vineland and worked on the family farm in East Vineland. He then partnered with Eddie Brunini for many years in carpentry and built many homes in South Jersey. After he retired he went back to work on the farm. Joe was devoted to prayer and was a cherished member of St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Joseph's Society, New Italy American Society, and American legion Post 270, and local gunning clubs. He built and carved a cross on the family homestead on Cornucopia Ave. in honor of a cross built by his ancestors and decorated the church at Christmas time for many years. Joe loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and western movies. his hobbies included gardening, canning and making homemade wine with his family from his own vineyard. He was always surrounded by his loving family and friends, especially at family barbeques and at 4pm for daily Manhattans.
