Obituary of Gino V. Zambelli

Gino V. Zambelli Gino V. Zambelli, beloved husband of Nell Zambelli for 66 years, passed away on June 11, 2008. Gino was born in Vineland, New Jersey on January 16, 1920 to Edith and Victorio Zambelli. A distinguished graduate of Vineland High School and Pierce College, Gino's early academic achievements led to his life-long career in accounting. After serving in the Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the Signal Corps, Gino began his professional life at Pagano Brothers in Vineland, later accepting a position at Coopers & Lybrand in Philadelphia. From there he moved his family to Buffalo and then Syracuse, New York to work with Sylvania. In 1961 he was offered a position in Milan, Italy as Director of Accounting International for GTE, which he gladly accepted. He provided his family with three wonderful years of cultural experiences in Italy and enjoyed extensive travel throughout Europe during this period. After his successful work in Italy, Gino was transferred back to the U.S. to continue his career with GTE in New York City and Stamford, Connecticut. He chose Dobbs Ferry, New York as his new home. After retiring from GTE, he and Nell enjoyed spending time at their homes in Florida and Atlantic City. Gino was an avid stamp collector, model car collector and crossword puzzle fanatic. He also enjoyed traveling around the world with Nell during their retirement. In addition to his wife Nell, Gino is survived by his sons Robert, William and Michael, his daughters-in-law, Linda (married to William), Grace (married to Michael), and his grandchildren Elizabeth, Jessica and Gregory. Gino will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. A memorial service will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel on June 16th at 1:00PM.
