Obituary of Michael Winogron
Michael Winogron, 87, of Aventura, Fl, and formerly of Vineland, died Monday morning, December 6, 2010, at Aventura Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Born in Sosnowiec, Poland, to the late Leopold and Paula (Grunbaum) Winogron, he was a survivor of the Dachau concentration camp during the Holocaust. After he was liberated, Mr. Winogron was instrumental in organizing and running several displaced persons camps in Germany. Following his immigration to the United States in 1949, he worked for more than 30 years as the traffic and warehouse manager for the B. Manischewitz Co. in Vineland. He was a member of Beth Israel Congregation until moving from the area.
He was married to the late Marysia Winogron for 47 years; and he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jeannette Winogron; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leopold and Dawn Winogron, of Eden, MD, and Dave and Judith Winogron, of Mount Laurel, NJ; five grandchildren and their spouses, MiraLeah and Jason Colflesh, Lisbeth and Richard Morino, Amanda Winogron, Adam Winogron, and Lauren Winogron, and three great-grandchildren, Naomi Colflesh and Madeleine and Abigail Morino, and close cousins, Stanley and the late Mansha Dembinski, Ben and Elsa Gluecksberg, Sam and the late Lola Jasny, and Abe and Rose Winogron.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leopold and Paula Winogron, his brother, Adam Winogron, and his sister, Miriam Winogron, who all perished in the Holocaust.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 11:00 am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma. Shiva will be held at his son's home in Mount Laurel on Thursday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
