Irene A. Testa, 85
Educator
Irene Testa of Vineland, New Jersey passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009, at the South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center. She was born in Vineland on December 13, 1924 to the late Matthew and Barbara (Simi) Testa. Irene graduated from Vineland High School. Her lifelong dream was to become a teacher and she went on to receive a degree from Glassboro State Teachers College. She was a teacher in the Vineland school system for 39 years. She began teaching at the Cunningham Elementary School, but most of her career was spent at Memorial Junior High where she taught Englilsh. She was a faithful member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Vineland where she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving on various committees.
Irene is survived by a sister-in-law Kathleen Testa and brother-in-law, Anthony V. Giacalone. Also surviving are a niece Leigh-Anne Dornberger and her husband John, niece Michell Testa, nephews Bart Giacalone, Anthony Giacalone and wife Sandra, Daren Testa and wife Kathy, four great nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins. Irene was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Giacalone and her brother Daniel Testa.
