I have many delightful, warm memories of Gene and his family. I remember as a youth when Gene bought a new Fiat car and we went for a long ride. I remember buying the typewriter that I used throughout high school from him when he had his store on Landis Ave. I remember how much I looked up to him and enjoyed seeing him. I remember he gave me a book on English literature, which I still have. He was, and is in spirit now, a warm, beautiful, soft-spoken, thoughtful man and I send my loving thoughts now to his immortal soul.

Dear Gene and Family, I just heard about your dad's passing and I wanted to take a minute to tell you how sorry I was to hear the news. Your dad was a great guy -- kind and caring. He always made me feel like I was part of the family. I have thought of him fondly more than a few times over the years. My prayers are with you all.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Gene and Fran and spend some great quality time with them. Gene became an instant friend and my birthday buddy for life. We enjoyed the same love of broadway music and Sinatra tunes and enjoyed singing them outloud (even though one of us was out of tune, I was told...in a gentle Gene kind of way). His love for his family and strong ethics showed in everything he did and said. Blessed to have known him. Angela and Fran - you and your family are in my heart and I thank you for sharing Gene with me. I will celebrate his life, always.
