Obituary of John F. McCormick

John Franklin McCormick Jr., of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away on April 4, 2025, at the Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland at the age of 78. Born on May 3, 1946, also in Vineland, John spent his life rooted in the area where he was born and ultimately laid to rest. In 1964, John answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. During his service, John sustained a life-altering injury at the age of 19 that resulted in paralysis from the waist down. He was honorably discharged in 1965 due to this medical condition. Despite this profound challenge, John's resilience and faith became guiding forces throughout his life. John leaned deeply on his relationship with Jesus to navigate life's trials and triumphs. His spiritual journey led him to dedicate several years to ministry service, offering support and inspiration to others through his unwavering devotion. John was part of a large and loving family. He is survived by his brother Patrick McCormick (Kathleen); sisters Rebecca and Mary Ann (Lou) Mucciolo; and sisters-in-law Judie and Michele McCormick along with many nephews and nieces. John was predeceased by his parents, John F. and Josephine McCormick Sr.; brothers Robert, Michael and Thomas McCormick; as well as sisters-in-law Donna and Catherine McCormick. John will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family extends heartfelt thanks for the prayers and visits offered during these last few months. A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday evening, April 11th from 6pm to 8pm and again on Saturday morning, April 12th from 9am to 10am followed by a funeral service at 10am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
