Obituary of Luigi Guaracini

Louis (Luigi) Guaracini, 83 Original Founder/President of Vineland Shop-Rites Louis (Luigi) Guaracini, 83, suddenly passed beautifully and peacefully into a snow-paved pathway to heaven on December 19th, 2009. In typical Lou style, he did it on his own terms and in his own way. He was surrounded by his loving family. The Guaracini family started out with Guaracini Meat Market on Wheat Road and expanded into the original Vineland Shop-Rite Supermarkets where he was the Founder and President. His companies included Grocer One Inc., Realty One Inc., Shop-Rite Liquor Warehouse Millville/ Vineyard One Inc., and Joseph Pontiac Auto Dealership. He was a 1945 Vineland High School graduate where he played baseball and due to his outstanding performance on the football field he was awarded numerous scholarships to Villanova University, Duke University, Holy Family University, and chose to accept the scholarship to attend Wake Forest University. He also served in the National Guard. He was a member of the Landisville Social Club, Diamond Social Club, Sons of Italy, and the old Wheat Road Club. Lou was best known as a family man .He especially enjoyed anytime spent with his grandchildren. His heart and generosity were extraordinary; he was always giving endlessly, never asking for anything in return. He gave generously to numerous charities, causes and individuals, always choosing to remain anonymous. Those who knew Lou knew he was a man of great character, honesty, and integrity. He is survived by his wife Joann, of 45 years, daughters Michaelann Guaracini and Kristaann Corona, son-in-law Todd Corona, grandchildren Michaelaann and Michael Anthony Louis Mazzochi, Kambrianna, Kascianna, and Vincent Louis Corona, brother Frank Sr., he was predeceased by his parents Guiseppe and Maria, brothers Salvatore and Joseph, sisters Louise, Theresa Geri, Mary Pagano, and Rose Rossi, and many nieces and nephews.
